GMB Gery Mendes Borges (1984). Growing up at the West Kruiskade in Rotterdam, is anoriginal product of theRotterdam's docks. He started writing English lyrics for the Dutch hip-hop group: "Dutch Conspiracy" in 2000. It was then that he gained huge respect and grew a big following in the underground rap community.
When GMB turned eighteen he also joined Theatre Company: "Rotterdams Lef" crossing the bridge into the world of theatre. In theater GMB developed into the multitalented artist that he is today.
Musicality and charisma are the trademarks for his dynamic live shows and his nonstop energy make him a much requested performer for prominent hip hop events such as: "Urban town, Bassline en Chocolate"GMB is a born entertainerwho enjoys every minute of being on stage.
His debut album: "This is not an album this is a phase" is the product of his record label: "Naked Truth records". GMB: "In this world, where mass media dictate the present culture, I would like to take it back to the creativity and originality of the individual". GMB, inspired by soul, funk, jazz, reggae and music from the republic of Cape Verde; his parents' native country, produced the beats for this debut album, as his alter egoHumaniac. The eighteen tracks tell the story about: love, social injustice and personal struggles of a boy growing up in the streets of Rotterdam. In 2006, after successful performances throughout The Netherlands,sharing the stage with various (inter)national known artists as: Opgezwolle, Duvelduvel, Bahamadia and Common, he receives the Dutch musicians award: "de Grote Prijs van Nederland" in the category hip hop. He also contributed to the Pete Philly & Perquisite album: "Mystery repeats'"

GMB (Gery Mendes Borges - 1984),geboren en getogen aan de West Kruiskade is een duidelijk product van de Rotterdamse hiphop school. Op jongeleeftijd begint hij met het schrijven van Engelstalige teksten voor de hiphop groep "Dutch Conspiracy" en verdient hij zijn strepen tijdens rap battles in het underground circuit.
Op achttienjarige leeftijd slaat hij vrijwel moeiteloos de brug naar theater waar hij in1996 aangenomen word bijRotterdams Lef. Hier ontwikkelt hij zich verder tot de veelzijdige artiest die hij vandaag de dag is.
Muzikaliteit en charisma zijn handelskenmerken voor zijn dynamische liveshow's en zijn niet aflatende energie maken hem een veelgevraagd host voor prominente hiphop evenementen als Urban town, Bassline en Chocolate. Een geboren entertainer die geniet van iedere seconde op het podium. Zijn debuut album; 'This is not an album, this is a phase', komt uit op GMB's eigen label Naked Truth. GMB: "in een wereld waarin massamedia hedendaagse cultuur dicteren, grijpt hij terug naar de creativiteit en originaliteit van het individu".Onder het alteregoHumaniac tekent hij ook voor de beats,waar hij zich laat inspireren door soul, funk, jazz, reggae en muziek uit Kaapverdië, het geboorteland van zijn ouders. De 18songs verhalen over liefde, maatschappelijk onrecht en persoonlijke worstelingen opgroeiend in de straten van Rotterdam. In 2006 won GMB, na tientallen succesvolle optredens door heel Nederland en het podium gedeeld te hebben met gerenommeerde (internationale) hiphop artiesten als Opgezwolle, Duvelduvel, Bahamadia en Common, de muzikantenprijs van de Grote Prijs van Nederland, categorie hip hop. Hij leverde in2007ook een bijdrage aan het album van Pete Philly & Perquisite 'mysery repeats'.
